Dua hari yang lalu saat berkunjung ke situs GCM, tiba-tiba saja Penulis sangat tertarik dengan sebuah kolom yang menyadur pengajaran dari (Alm) Derek Prince yang membahas tentang ayat Mazmur yang berbunyi demikian:

Sekalipun aku berjalan dalam lembah kekelaman, aku tidak takut bahaya, sebab Engkau besertaku; gada-Mu dan tongkat-Mu, itulah yang menghibur aku. (Mazmur 23:4)

My husband often reminds me with this kind of expression sentence: The Other Grass at the neighborhood might not be greener than it looks. I absolutely agree with him.

Most people see other things those are not theirs from the outside. What they see that is what they think. For an example: I was a Full House Mommy for my little daughter. I really enjoy raising her by myself. I learned many new things in raising my baby but most of my friends always asked me when I would start to work again. They thought with my busy life as a worker woman, it could make me more valuable and expand my social life with the others. I told them that raising a baby by myself without any family members in my side in USA was very difficult (I am from Indonesia). It is different situation and condition with them (in Indonesia) which they have family and relatives who can help them whenever and whatever they need. But they still didn’t understand. Once again I told them that someday when the time came and GOD permitted, I would work again. It was true. When my little daughter was 3 years old, I got my first job at WALMART Super Center and couple months after that I became Managing Editor of The On-line News www.kabarindonesia.com. What a surprise! But again, many friends finally could not believe it how I could manage my times between my work, my activity and my family. I said, “I have discipline! I know it is very hard, but I am a kind of person who has high discipline and I enjoy everything what I am doing right now, so there is no problem with me.” The Problem is them who always see something outside the scene and think it is better than its scene itself.

This question ‘What to do if you win the lottery?’ is very familiar I hear from many persons who I know. Even I ever asked this question to my husband when he looked so busy with his power-ball numbers. Without any long thinking, he described what he wanted if he won the lottery, from the private jet/airplane, having own hospital for the poor people in my country (Indonesia), etc. Those are general.

If I get that question or someone asks me that same question, the first thing I would tell him that I really don’t need hundreds million dollars in my life. I am pretty sure when I win a very huge lottery (around hundreds millions dollars), right away, at that time, I can not close my eyes, I can not sleep very well. Of course, my heart will full with a huge happiness because I have a lot of money but I am sure beside on it, on the corner of my heart I will have a great worries. I worry about my safety, my family member’s safety. Although I will have some bodyguards, for the example. It means that my life will change drastic, from ‘freedom’ to ‘being body-guarded’. It will make me not comfortable and not enjoyable.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Thank you for your regular visit to My Blog. I hadn’t been able to update regularly to my blog because I had flu and my Internet didn’t work properly. I feel better now and several days ago my internet had been fixed already.

Although I couldn’t go online regularly but I had a chance to check my Blog sometimes and I was glad reading your comment in my last post that you were interested to read a post about why and how I came to USA. I love to answer it in this posting.
