How to find an encouragement ?

The answer supposed to be very simple right: God and the Bible.

However, normally I also find encouragement from our brothers and sisters in Christ, friends, family, or even strangers (like what I post last time here).

Being by nature outgoing, I tend to love talking rather than listening. I guess this has been less and less lately, although it is still by nature happening so :). But the truth is, which one it is, as long as we talk about God and His Word, I found that I can always find enjoyment and encouragement.

One of Indonesian air flight carrier, Adam Air, has been up in the headline news of Indonesian papers for a couple of days now. As of today, it is being grounded from flying its plane due to its internal management problem. More news in Indonesian: jawapos.

On the other hand, Easter is coming … It reminds me of the bunny chocolate that I received at workplace last year when I received another one today. It’s such a great thing to know that Easter is widely celebrated in Australia, even though it might be ‘just-another-holiday’ for most of them.

Thought I would share a lil bit about this, since I’ve been thinking about it for awhile. Hope this can be an encouragement rather than forcing out my idea on others.

On the issue of money and the use of money, I find myself living quite a comfortable life, though of course very far from calling myself rich yet.

But looking at my income and stable life, of course that said alone, I’m quite rich to support myself and indulge in what this world has to offer. The fact that I’m graduated from University with overseas students fee also shows that I’m aiming for a rich life (JFYI: overseas students pay about 4-5x more than local students).

The recent discussion on ‘how content are we with the usage of our money’ during Grad Conference has reminded me the importance of money for God’s Kingdom. It has also given me more eye-opener to be more generous in our own giving and support for our church…

There is no telling that living life as a new Christian can be quite hard and daunting. by telling this, it’s not that I’m trying to find comfort or tell others as if i know better. I do still go through struggles here and there. I’m just saying that there are so many things that you have to learn Christian way, that I’ve never understood or known before.

Hence, i believe now that i can sympathize myself with others who went through the same situation.

From our bible study on 1 Tess 4:13-18, 2 weeks ago, we learnt that our view of death as a Christian will shape us differently the way we look forward to the future, the hope. in fact, Christian who has died is even called fallen asleep, to give the assurance that every Christian will be raised together under ruler-ship of Christ Jesus in the day where the Lord is coming.

Aku masih ingat dengan jelas, waktu saudara seiman bertanya “Bagaimana kamu bisa begitu yakin kamu bisa tetap menjadi seorang kristen, sampai akhir? Jalan itu ngga mudah lho”.
